Being In God’s Presence Online Drop-In Group

This group has been a space for us to be filled with light, hope and connection as we meet and hear from God through scripture and art making. We journey together witnessing what each other are hearing from God.
Join us for this art group designed to help you connect with Jesus and fellow believers through artistic expression, meditation, and reflection. Each week, we will begin with a time of prayer and meditation, followed by art-making. We close our time with reflection and group sharing. In the quiet moments of “being” with God through art and receiving His presence, we believe He can speak to our hearts in profound and transformative ways.
Are you yearning to connect deeper with God and others? This group was made to meet that desire. A unique feature of the group is creating together to connect with God. When we come together we get a richer view of who God is as we hear from each other about what they see about who God is.
This is what each session looks like.
- Lighting of the Candle & Prayer (3 mins)
- Introductions and Check-In (10 mins)
- Meditation on Scripture/Visio Divina (7-9 mins)
- Art Making (40 mins)
- Sharing Artwork and the Process (20 mins, with 4 participants that’s 5 mins each roughly)
- Closing (5 mins)
Visio Divina Process
A facilitator reads the bible passage out loud 3 times, pausing between each reading to allowing space for images, words and inspiration to come from the Holy Spirit. After this process we head right into making art.
This group runs weekly through out the full year of 2026 with a few exceptions when the facilitators are unavailable.

You don’t need to be an artist to join since we are focused on the process rather than a final art product
About the Facilitators
Hannah and Katlyn met during their art therapy education. They were paired together in a group and quickly found that they both love Jesus. They have remained good friends since and have developed this group together.
They are both professional members of the Canadian Art Therapy Association and offer art therapy services in-person in their home areas and online in groups like this. Both have been trained to offer art therapy in relational and trauma-informed ways.
Katlyn lives in Alberta with her partner and 2 cats. Her work focuses on making spaces for people to encounter Jesus through art and creativity.
Hannah lives in , British Columbia with her partner. Her work involves running multiple arts faith-based groups through the Salvation Army. Hannah brings joy, light and a playfulness to her sessions, deeply loving those she is with.
Themes
We choose verses from the bible based on themes determined by the needs and desires of the group.
In January we explored the theme of Light In the Darkness.
Our current theme is Connection with some subthemes.
